A two-day-long discussion for developing an integrated Action plan for the state of Haryana was held in Panchkula on 26th-27th April 2023. The conclave featured five purposeful sessions on themes of:
1. agriculture-Crop Diversion,
2. Micro Irrigation,
3. Ground Water Recharge and management of Flood Water, 4. Reducing Fresh water demand and maximising reuse of Treated wastewater for Non-potable Purposes, 5. Optimizing Water Demand and Augmenting Supply in Urban Areas; twenty distinguished speakers on various topic under the themes, and delegates who possess vast knowledge and expertise on the subject matter.
The purpose of the event was to bring together officials and relevant stakeholders across departments and agencies on one platform, as the Integrated water plan is inter-departmental and involves collaboration from various departments to deliberate on a multi-faceted approach, combining policy interventions and technological advancement. The conclave was curated essentially to learn from good practices and make plans for Haryana in a manner that unprecedented Speed and Scale can be achieved for Water Conservation.
The event was graced by the Hon'ble Chief Minister, of Haryana and the other ministers of the states, including Shri Dushyant Chautala Ji, Hon’ble DY CM, Shri Ranjit Singh, Hon’ble Energy Minister, Shri Kanwar Pal, Hon’ble Environment and Forest Minister, Shri J P Dalal, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister, Haryana, Dr. Banwari Lal, Hon’ble Public Health Engineering Department Minister, Haryana, Shri Devender Singh Babli, Hon’ble Panchayat and Development Minister, Haryana, Dr Kamal Gupta, Hon’ble Urban Local Bodies Minister, Haryana, Shri Gian Chand Gupta, Hon`ble Speaker- Vidhan Sabha Haryana, Shri Sanjeev Kaushal, Chief Secretary, Government of Haryana. The notable speakers were Shri. Devender Singh I.A.S (Retd.), Adviser (Irrigation) to CM and Smt Keshni Anand Arora IAS (Retd), Chairperson HWRA who were also the key organisers of the event.
The suggestions and discussions were also held by the Hon'ble CM, Haryana, in the open House sessions.
