Primus Partners, in collaboration with iSPIRT, hosted a Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) Roundtable ON 24 October 2024.
The discussion was steered under the leadership of Shri Amitabh Kant, India’s G20 Sherpa, who at G20 has pioneered the cause of deploying DPI, especially for the Global South to accelerate action on Sustainable Development Goals 2030.
The event was also graced by High Commissioner of South Africa H.E. Prof. Anil Sooklal; CEO of Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) Mr. Amit Agrawal; Former Additional Secretary of Health and Family Welfare and Resident Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Mr. Lav Agarwal and Joint Secretary of Development Partnership Administration-III at the Ministry of External Affairs of India Mr. Rohit Rathish amongst others.
The roundtable consisted of three sessions focused on:
- Achieving SDGs through DPI: Addressing the Global South’s Needs and India’s Potential Solutions
- Impact of India Stack on Businesses
- Laying the Foundation for Standards and Protocols to Globalise India Stack
The event saw the participation of experts in the tech industry from Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Google, Intel Corporation, and Droom; Policymakers from the Foreign Ministry of the Government of South Africa, Ministry of External Affairs of the Government of India, U.S. Dept. of Housing and Urban Development, UIDAI, UNDP, The World Bank, UN-OSET; and philanthropies and foundations such as the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Wadhwani Foundation, and iSPIRT.
The discussions at the roundtable were fructified into a report on ‘Beyond Boundaries: India’s DPI Model for Global Progress’, released on 25 November 2024 that sets out 11 DPI recommendations and 14 expert opinions based on industry experiences in DPI deployment worldwide.
