Davinder Sandhu, Co-Founder and Chairman, Primus Partners, moderated a session on Digital Systems and Smart Technologies for Indian Railways at the Economic Times RAIL Show. The panel included several notable speakers such as Vijay K. Devnath, GGM (I&S, MDMS & CISO), Center for Railway Information Systems; Nalinaksh Vyas, Former Chairman, Technology Mission for Indian Railways and Nitin Bhatia, Vertical Head - Business Development Utilities Railways Defense (Digital Transformation Office), CISCO.
The themes for the discussion included innovation for seamless customer experience, smart and safe signaling and telecommunication solutions, technology and innovations for operations, cybersecurity regulations as well as the automation and AI plays in understanding technology requirements with increased traffic.
The panel discussion began with a conversation on the railways of the future, technology innovations and service demand, followed by an overview of Industry 4.0 and its mainstreaming within Railway systems by Nalinaksh Vyas. Vijay K. Devnath then shared his comments on the ongoing induction of IT and ITeS on Indian Railways, and the actions that need to be taken to ensure cyber security and data protection. Nitin Bhatia followed with his thoughts on using technology for risk-based incident responses and for predictive maintenance.
